The health of our students is of paramount concern regardless of whether they are at school or at home. It's the job of our incredible nurses to monitor our students' health every day and they approach each student with care and compassion. Thank you to our nurses!

Last week, Lakeview Elementary's fifth grade class came together to celebrate the grand opening of their much anticipated new library. Principal Elizabeth Blessing also took the opportunity to honor the late and much loved member of the Lakeview family, Josephine Wegel, with a reading corner dedicated to her. Wegel's husband and daughter, Richard and Kristen Wegel, were invited to cut the ceremonial ribbon and usher in the fifth grade class to explore their brand new learning space.

Last week, Mahopac staff, faculty, students, and community members gathered in the Mahopac High School Gym to honor five more seniors who will be playing college sports next year. Congratulations to Alexis LeBlanc, Emma DeMuro, Julianna Greco, Mia Caldarella, and Brendan Mahoney.

The Mahopac High School Counseling Department hosted a career fair today for all high school students. Professionals from dozens of fields offered students critical advice about possible future professions and finding their way in the working world.

Don't miss out on a fantastical performance of Mary Poppins put on by the Mahopac High School Drama Company on April 18th, 19th, and 20th at 7:00 pm in the high school auditorium. Tickets are 10$ at the door. Come and support our student cast, crew, and musicians!

Today we are celebrating all of our Teacher Aides and School Monitors, the Mahopac CSD extends its thanks to all of the School Monitors and Teacher Aides who work to support our students and keep our schools safe every day.

Reminder, parents, guardians, and community members are invited to attend the "D is for Dyslexia" presentation tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Mahopac High School. Don't miss this presentation by MHS alumni, Dylan Smith as he shares his journey of struggle and triumph.

MHS's Jennifer Degl gathered 150 students for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity on Monday. Students gathered on the turf field equipped with eclipse glasses to watch a near-total eclipse right outside the school. Check out a photo of the eclipse taken by MHS student Yesenia Lewis.

Today the Mahopac CSD celebrated its Library Media Specialists and Library Aides. They offer essential support to our students in finding the resources they need to further their education and have made excellent use of the District's many new library spaces to benefit students.
